Many apologies for impertinence and irrelevance. A full disclosure. First and last time on sniperhunter2012. Please bare with it as much as possible.

A writer ought never sketch a background for himself or for his work within his work. More importantly he should not attempt to morally justify himself or his work. This holds true for any person’s work or life. The work and the individual ought stand proudly for all to see and evaluate. My perspective has changed drastically, however, in the several years since last I put anything out there. In the interest of clarity and intellectual honesty It seems appropriate to say something. I would hope that this will help forestall those who would substitute criticism of this thinker for evaluation of his ideas.

Under my given name I wrote for Examiner.com as well as for my own websites (which I am no longer maintaining). I wrote from the Objectivist position. I focused primarily on politics and ethics. I defended atheism, I mistakenly argued against mysticism rather than for reason, and I critiqued morally questionable cultural and political trends.

Some of my prior ideas (and thus any number of positions taken in my prior work)are no longer tenable. Given experiences I have had since last I wrote these ideas are not in line with my current views.

I’ve no interest in discussing these experiences here on the written ‘page’. Suffice it to say I am a self declared apostate from Objectivism. I will also be (correctly) viewed by traditional (and non traditional) religion as a heretic.

Allow me to pay homage to one of America’s greatest and most ardent defenders. In paraphrase of one of Ayn Rand’s best heroes: if I’m an apostate and heretic – make the most of it.
